As with grooming Bull Terriers are easy dogs to feed.
Choose a well known puppy brand that has a minimum of 22% protein that is easily digestible. Lamb, beef, turkey, ostrich and chicken are all good. Be careful of foods that merely state animal bi products. Feathers are officially protein but not easily digestible for dogs. Bull Terriers do best on food that contains a high percentage of fat for that lovely glossy coat. Allow your puppy to eat as much as he wants in three meals until around 14 months. After this it depends on the individual dog. If you look at your Bull Terrier from above you should be able to see a slight waste but not individual ribs. At this age you can begin to introduce an adult dog food again checking the protein and fat percentages. Fat and scraps from cooking can be added to your Bull Terriers food for variety and taste.
There are currently many raw food diets available but you will need to check that the manufacturers have carefully checked that the balance is correct.
Do not feed your Bull Terrier onions, garlic, avocado, peanut butter, chocolate, sugar or any other food with added sweetener. These are often poisonous for dogs.
